Scanning Mirror

Galvanometers, also known as galvanometric scanners, are specialized oscillating motors that differ from conventional rotary motors. Their rotors cannot rotate continuously but instead deflect proportionally to the input current - similar to how galvanometers function in ammeters. This current-to-angle proportionality gives them their alternative name: galvanometric scanners.

Overview of Scanning Mirror

The Scanning mirror have found mature applications in laser scanning systems. A laser galvanometer scanner (Galvo scanner) consists of three core components: an optical scanning head, electronic drive amplifier, and optical mirror assembly. By utilizing two galvanometer mirrors to reflect the laser beam, it achieves precise XY-plane motion control. This specialized electromechanical device is specifically designed for laser processing applications.

Features of Scanning Mirror

Thickness & Axis: Rotation axis passes through mirror's internal structure, not surface.

Angle & Coverage: Must cover full aperture at max angle, may cause off-center spots.

Rotation Optimization: Z-axis pre-rotation affects X-mirror size; optimal angle saves space.

XY Spacing: Balanced distance prevents beam blockage (X→Y→X path) and oversizing.

Beam & Shape: Mirror contour matches beam profile (set by optics/angles).

Coatings: Single/double-sided options based on application.
